  • Say hello to our Olive Egger chicks—green-egg treasures from Sugar Feather Farm! We love the beauty of these birds, from their vibrant olive-shaded eggs to their quirky charm. Created by blending dark brown and blue egg layers, these exciting chicks hatch from our multi-generational mixes—F2, F3, F4, F5, and back-crossed BC1 and BC2 lines. At our Vermont farm, we’re passionate about crafting their unique traits while promoting sustainable breeding. These little green egg laying chickens ship past the fragile newborn stage with feathers sprouting—still young, well under 3 weeks—ready to brighten your coop. They’re primed with our Non-GMO Chick Starter, switching to Chicken Grower as they grow. Here’s what makes them special:

Green egg laying chickens – Vibrant olive shades for your basket!

Creative blends – Crafted from brown and blue egg layers with F2-F5 and BC1-BC2 genetics.

Sustainable stars – Bred with eco-friendly care.

Charming quirks – Lively additions to any homestead.

Embrace the joy of raising these olive egger chicks and the kaleidoscope of eggs they bring!

  • The history of Olive Egger chickens is a tale of innovative crossbreeding and a quest for unique egg colors. The term ‘Olive Egger’ refers to a hybrid chicken bred to lay eggs in various shades of green, like olive or moss green. While not recognized as a standardized breed by the American Poultry Association, they’ve gained big love among backyard keepers and breeders for their stunning eggs and charm.

  • We recommend starting baby chicks out with Sugar Feather Farm chick starter for the first 3 weeks, then switching to our Chicken Grower. Use the Grower Feed until they hit maturation (which is when they start to lay) then switch to Sugar Feather Farm Adult Feed.

We highly recommend using the Oil of Oregano in their water daily as a supplement to aid with digestion and overall health.
