You have read and accept all policies contained in this Master Policy document. These policies apply to all products and services, including live animals, hatching eggs, feed, merchandise, gift cards, consultations, and farm visits/pickups.
You acknowledge that Sugar Feather Farm communicates primarily via email and that failure to receive or review emails due to opt-out preferences, spam filtering, or provider limitations does not exempt you from these policies.
Continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of any policy updates. Sugar Feather Farm reserves the right to modify policies at any time without prior notice.
All communication and documentation from Sugar Feather Farm are provided in English.
You must be 18 years or older to place an order on our site (or have a parent/guardian conduct the purchase on your behalf if you are a minor).
Email Communications, Notifications & Delivery Limitations
Platform Limitations (Squarespace Email System)
Sugar Feather Farm operates its website and order system on the Squarespace platform. Due to platform limitations, automated order notifications, fulfillment updates, and process emails may only be delivered to customers who opt in to receive emails or marketing communications at checkout.
If a customer does not consent to email communications or unsubscribes from emails, they may not receive critical order-related messages, including but not limited to:
Order confirmations
Fulfillment timing updates
Shipping notifications or tracking emails
Pickup scheduling requests
Policy-related communicationsBy placing an order, customers acknowledge that email is our primary method of communication, and that opting out of emails may result in missed updates or delays in order fulfillment.
Email Accuracy & Monitoring Responsibility
Customers are responsible for:
Providing a valid and accurate email address at checkout
Ensuring that emails from @sugarfeatherfarm.com are not blocked
Monitoring inboxes, spam folders, and junk folders regularly
Sugar Feather Farm is not responsible for missed communications due to spam filtering, inbox sorting, email provider rules, unsubscribing, or customer failure to monitor their email.
Spam Filtering & Delivery Issues
Email delivery is ultimately controlled by third-party email providers (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc.). Even when emails are sent correctly, they may be filtered, delayed, or routed to spam or promotional folders.
Customers acknowledge that:
Email delivery cannot be guaranteed
Failure to receive an email does not excuse missed deadlines, missed pickup appointments, abandoned orders, or policy violations
“I didn’t see the email” is not a valid basis for refunds, exceptions, or policy overrides
We strongly recommend that customers:
Add @sugarfeatherfarm.com to their email contacts or safe sender list
Check spam and promotions folders regularly
Reach out proactively if they are awaiting an update
Governing Law
All transactions, disputes, and claims involving Sugar Feather Farm are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Vermont, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. By doing business with us, you agree that any legal matters will be subject to Vermont jurisdiction.
Orders, Payments & Deposits
Order Acceptance: Sugar Feather Farm retains the right to refuse, cancel, or modify any order at our discretion. Orders are not considered confirmed until payment is received in full. We may contact you if adjustments are needed (for example, due to inventory or shipping considerations).
Accepted Payment Methods: We offer a range of convenient payment options:
Credit/Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, etc.)
PayPal
Venmo (and other approved electronic payment processors)
Checks (personal or bank checks – accepted for farm pickup orders only)
Cash (for in-person farm pickup orders only)
Money Orders (for in-person transactions or mailed)
Please note:. A $25 fee will be charged for any returned check.
Deposits: In some cases – such as custom orders or limited-availability breeds – we may offer the option to place a deposit to reserve your order. Deposits secure your priority for fulfillment but do not guarantee exact timing, sex of the animal, or availability on a specific date. All deposits are non-refundable if you decide to cancel the order. Full payment of the remaining balance is required before any order is fulfilled or released. (If an order with a deposit is canceled by the customer, the deposit amount is forfeited as outlined in our cancellation policy below.) Deposits help us fairly manage reservations given our small farm’s limited stock and ensure serious commitments from customers.
