A limited group of Buff Orpington and Light Brahma pullets, hatched July 6 and raised here at Sugar Feather Farm under the same humane care practices and high nutritional standards we use throughout our farm. While these birds were sourced as chicks from outside our breeding program, they have been thoughtfully raised here with an emphasis on welfare, nutrition, health, and natural development. Offered separately from our regular Sugar Feather Farm breeding stock and available only while this small group lasts.

Limited Farm-Raised Pullets are newly released, available-now inventory and are available as new purchases only. They cannot be used as substitutions or swaps for existing orders and cannot be purchased with store credit, replacement credit, promotional value, or other previously issued value.

These pullets are being offered separately from our regular Sugar Feather Farm breeding stock because we did not produce or select their parent stock.

They have, however, been raised here using the same humane care philosophy and high nutritional standards we believe every bird deserves.

They are offered in their current condition as a special, limited group and will not be restocked once they are gone.

  • Buff Orpingtons are a longtime favorite for good reason. They are beautiful, soft-bodied birds with rich golden-buff plumage and are generally known for their calm, friendly nature.

    They can be wonderful flock companions and are especially appealing to families and backyard keepers looking for a gentle, classic breed.

  • Light Brahmas are one of those breeds that are hard not to admire. Their feathered legs, striking black-and-white markings, and substantial build give them a beautiful presence in the flock.

    They are generally known for their calm, easygoing temperament and can make lovely additions to a mixed flock.

  • Starter pullets should be transitioned gradually into their new environment with access to quality feed, fresh water, dry housing, and adequate space to settle in.

    We recommend Sugar Feather Farm Chicken & Waterfowl Grower until your pullets reach maturity and begin laying. At that point, transition them to Sugar Feather Farm Mixed Flock Layer Feed.

    When adding new birds to an established flock, allow a gradual introduction whenever possible. Side-by-side housing before full integration can help reduce stress and pecking-order issues.

    We also recommend Oil of Oregano in their water as part of our regular digestive and nutritional support program. Vita Boost can be especially helpful during shipping, transition, and other periods of stress.
